Bill Richardson Leaps Over John Edwards in Arizona

July 28, 2007

The "Top 3" has suddenly become a "Top 4" with Bill Richardson joining the group by taking over third place in Arizona.

  • He is at 11% according to a recently released KCCI Iowa poll.
  • Richardson already polled ahead of Edwards in New Hampshire according to a CNN/WMUR Poll conducted by New Hampshire.

Visit our Bill Richardson stat sheet to see how he is doing in each of the states.

We predicted an upset victory for Bill Richardson in Iowa based on the fact that John Edwards' decline will help him in that state.

In the past 5 months, American Research Group has observed that the Unsure and John Edwards voting percentage dropped by a combined 11 points. Hillary Clinton gained 6 points and Bill Richardson gained the other 5 points. This suggests that the Barack Obama campaign has peaked, at least in the west.

With there still being 16 percent of voters unsure of who they support, half of that would catapult Richardson to almost 20% in Arizona, a state that is key to his campaign because of being on February 5th.
