Where John Cox Stands On the Issues

August 15, 2007

Republican businessman, John Cox has joined 14 other GOP members on the slate of candidates seeking the presidential nomination. The thrust of his thoughts on the major election issues is one to provide the most benefits to the American people, as well as the protection of rights and traditional values.

On the war in Iraq, John Cox believes that bring the country into its own prosperity by returning oil production to its full capacity will have the dramatic affect of making it self-sufficient. By allowing the country to become more prosperous, terrorism will no longer have a place in Iraq, or in other countries than learn to survive on their own.

Another hot button issues that John Cox seems to be in line with a majority of Americans is the issue of illegal immigration. While welcoming legal immigration, he is against amnesty and work programs that allow people in the country without learning the language and contributing to the economy. His concern is the large number of illegal immigrants who strain public services while putting a drain on the economy. Cracking down on businesses that use illegal workers he says should be a priority while protecting the borders and enforcing existing laws will go further than more legislative action.

He is also not happy with the Internal Revenue Service and would push for a fair tax, doing away with the income tax that he says is counterproductive due to the time spent on income tax filing as well as the cost of collecting the tax. He also believe that there has to be a balance between protecting the country’s borders and protecting the rights of the citizens.
