Why the Republican Party Should Embrace Ron Paul<< See all our Ron Paul articles. Published May 19, 2007, 4AM PST The Republican party official Saul Anuzis of Michigan made the hugest mistake ever in an attempt to block Ron Paul from the debates. The American people love freedom of speech and to block a candidate from a debate because you disagree with his views is not only absurd, it is unconsitutional. Al Sharpton and Tommy Thompson Said Worse Things. Al Sharpton made racist comments against Mitt Romney earlier in the month but the Democratic party did not call for his head. Let him make his speeches, let him talk about what he wants to. Debate him on the facts and let the American people decide. Read about Tommy Thompson's bigoted remark in the first GOP debate. Censoring Individuals Is Wrong. If we censor individuals that disagree with the party platform, why even have candidates. Why don't we just run party versus party and have pseudo computers making votes in the house, senate, and White house based on the party beliefs? Because that would be insane. You need a human mind to look at things in an objective manner. Necessity of the Debate Process. It is through the debate process where views and values change. If the party platforms never changed, we would still have people believing in slavery or that women should not vote, etc... Ron Paul Stands Alone. An opportunity for us to debate the issues in an objective manner is exactly what America needs in its political process. Ron Paul is the only Republican candidate to be against the war. He should be embraced for his views not ridiculed and thrown out. Because if the Republican party ridicules that viewpoint completely, they will have trouble in a general election where a larger majority of people disagree with the war. << See all our Ron Paul articles.
