A recent statement by Edward C. Johnson III, a chairman of Fidelity Investments, said that "we can only hope that the government's cure doesn't further sicken the patient". This statement, though neutral, implies distrust and fear towards the new economic revival plan set forth by the Obama administration.

Spending on social programs, as seen in this new economic plan, will create new opportunities for Americans. Investments in infrastructure renovations and scientific research will also jumpstart this economy.

This economic plan is somewhat similar to the 'New Deal', set forth by Roosevelt, years after the Great Depression. We need to realize that to make money, one has to spend money. We will get out of this economic mess by spending our way out.
