In the yearly Gallup tax study, conducted since 1957, the polling organization found that Americans are fairly splilt between feeling good and bad about paying their fair share of taxes.

About 46% say they are paying the right amount, while 48% are saying they are paying too much.

Taxes are set up to help pay for vital social programs, and the need for them is undeniable.

As the deadline for last year's tax returns expires today, realize the importance of paying taxes and the patriotic duty that comes along with it.
