Americans Feel The Law Should Treat Everyone Equal6/7/09 Tags: Law From Rasmussen (conducted: 6/3-4/09)
» Commentary by Kris Lazaro (registered Democrat) In a recent Rasmussen study, the polling group found that an overwhelming majority want the law to apply equally to all Americans. Only a small fraction (8%) want the law to help those who have less power and influence. Law and justice should be blind. It must not discriminate or favor certain groups. To this author, while the law is not perfect, it is a great way to maintain order and keep civil peace in our society. The law must not favor the rich or poor, nor the powerful or powerless. This poll shows this sentiment as 83% want the law to apply equally to all Americans. This author simply hopes that Americans need not fear the law, for the justice system has guidelines set in place to provide for equality for all.
