From Gallup (conducted: 5/3-4/09)

  • 34% are now satisfied with the direction of the country
  • 13% was the satisfaction rate in November 2008
  • 63% are dissatisfied, though this is an improvement from 85% in November 2008

» Commentary by Kris Lazaro (registered Democrat)

Americans are feeling much better about themselves and their country, as per a recent Gallup poll survey asking Americans about the direction of the United States. The organization found that 34% are now satisfied with how the country is running, a stark improvement from 13% almost 6 month ago.

The new administration is making strides in stabilizing the economy, changing antiquated ideologies, and improving the image of the country worldwide.

After Obama's 100 days in office this author applauds the president for stepping up and improving the course of this country. It will still take some time to undo many of the prior president's sins, but with the the cooperation of the American people we will once again regain our foothold as one of the greatest country in the world.
