Communication is the key to solving many of our problems. With the prior administration, political dialogue between nations in conflict was limited, especially with those nations thought to be a threat to national security.

But, with the new administration now in command, President Obama has stressed that he wants open dialogue with other countries, including the nation of Iran.

In a recent Gallup poll, it found that a slim majority of Americans would support such an openness to dialogue to countries such as Iran. 56% want open speech to possibly detour future tensions from rising.

To this author, this is the key to diplomacy. We must have mutual respect with our allies and those who do not completely share our views. Having this open forum with Iran will enable this country to secure its future and to understand the other side.

Let the talks begin, and let us hammer out the differences that separate us.
