As another sign of the times, a meager 27% are planning a Spring vacation this year. Although this seems like a low number, this is actually an improvement from last year (when 19% planned a Spring getaway at around this time last year).

Taking vacations is a sure way to measure one's economic stability, and ever since this country has been in a recession, not many people have taken such luxuries.

One thing that might be a great compromise is something called a "staycation". In a "staycation" one takes a small vacation closer to home, perhaps a weekend thing or a small 3-day getaway at a local hotspot. This will fulfill one's needs for a vacation, but will also be an exercise in value. One does not need to spend too much money in going somewhere far away.

We all need to relax and unwind sometime. "Staycations" are a wonderful way to stay economical in these tough times and also fulfill our need to vacation.
