Americans Still Sympathetic Towards Israel Depsite Recent Events In Gaza3/4/09 Tags: General, Foreign Affairs From Gallup (conducted: 2/9-12/09)
» Commentary by Kris Lazaro (registered Democrat) As the current administration vows to broker a peace deal in the Middle East, with a special envoy and a visit to the region by secretary of state Hillary Clinton, an ongoing poll by Gallup shows that Americans still favor the Israelis over the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip conflict by a relatively high margin. The Gaza strip, a piece of land that both the Israelis and Palestines have long been fighting over, remains to be the number one reason why both sides collide. Americans, for one reason or another, seem to favor Israel more than Palestine, despite the recent attacks in the region. With Barack Obama's administration, we can hopefully find some common ground and create a solution to the region that has been absent for too long.
