According to a new Rasmussen Reports survey the organization found that Americans view big government and big business on the same side. This sad, but true, assessment is a reflection of the American public's distrust against both bodies.

Big government is not entirely too harmful if it maintains and upholds social values, but big business is harmful through and through.

Corruption in Washington has perhaps led to this sentiment that big business and big government are in bed together. So much money is funneled through the political channels (for re-election and as such) that sometimes laws are influenced in favor of business.

For Washington to fix itself it must detach its attachments to big business and focus on the American public that it serves.
