In a recent poll conducted by Rasmussen, a clear majority believe that the presidential inauguration should begin with a prayer. Notwithstanding, this inauguration will be quite historic.

No matter how one looks at it, this transfer of power will be special. This prayer controversy is perhaps the only contentious topic of the day as Americans and the world look towards Washington, DC today.

The day is full of ritual and this author believes that the prayer should be included.

This is the first day for a new, brighter America.
