Who gets your vote in 2012?
Five Tea Party Candidates Running for SenateLisa Murkowski concedes. Joe Miller of Alaska is the latest Republican candidate to beat their respective establishment opponent. Sarah Palin is credited with a win here for having endorsed Miller.
Counting Rand Paul, Sharron Angle, Ken Buck, and Mike Lee; there are five tea party candidates for the Senate and each of them have legitimate shots at winning. Joe Miller is leading by six points according to the latest Rasmussen Reports poll. Rand Paul has a small lead according to three of four pollsters -- one has him in a dead heat. Sharron Angle is struggling for her life but the Las vegas Review Journal, Rasmussen Reports, and Reuters each have her in a dead heat. Ken Buck has a slim three to four point lead against Bennet. And finally, Mike Lee is comfortably doubling up Granato. These folks have a great deal of enthusiasm behind their candidacies. The only thing that is working against them at this point is labeling them as "extreme". McCain won Kentucky by 17 points. Rand Paul is only in a dead heat. Alaska was once considered unwinnable by the Democrats but with Miller's victory -- they think they have a shot. As reported by Roll Call, It is happening, and theres a new surge of energy and excitement into Democratic headquarters out here, Alaska Democratic Party spokeswoman Kay Brown said. Scotts a good guy, a real Alaskan, and I think hes going to look good and compare favorably against Joe Miller. Harry Reid, the Senate Majority leader, is also another candidate that should have gone down in flames. But against Angle, he's actually in the game. According to Gallup, Republicans are twice as excited to vote in November than Democrats. The "extreme" angle might work but not amongst those most likely to vote. How can Democrats make that up?
