» Commentary by Kris Lazaro (registered Democrat) In a recent telephone survey conducted by Rasmussen, almost half of those interviewed viewed the new president as more liberal than themselves. To the author, it does not matter how liberal or conservative an elected official happens to be: the more important issue is whether or not such an official has the country's needs in mind. It has been too often that officials abuse their rank and power to achieve personal means, and although Republicans have been guilty of this (as opposed to the Democrats), both parties have been caught with their hands in the cookie jar.
