Huckabee's greatest advantage is with born again and evangelicals -- a group that he leads by 9% over Palin. Palin leads among voters that are not in that group by 7% despite the fact that Palin appeals to that wing of the party.

Surprisingly, Huckabee leads among women while Palin leads among men.

"Jindal and Crist are relative unknowns. The fact that they get much less support than the others is likely a function of name recognition rather than a true measure of their potential base of support," Holland said.

At this time of the year four years ago, it was said that Giuliani was in the lead. That did not pan out. Jeb Bush was polling well but he never ran for president. And speculation was abound as to whether or not Condoleezza Rice would run and that did not happen. So what does this poll mean right now? Probably nothing.
