As President Obama researches his candidate for the next Supreme Court Justice, Americans were asked by Rasmussen for their opinions regarding the qualifications of our next Justice.

Not surprisingly the nominee's legal background and competence in the courts systems was the number answer, followed by the nominee's socio-political views.

To this author a Justice should have great competence and massive legal knowledge, secondary should be his/her politcal views. The president will have a tough and difficult decision in selecting our next Justice, but this author is confident that he will pick a candidate who will be fit for such a great role in our legal system.
